Jail. Day 2.

Day two: complete. And wouldn’t you know, our group of ten volunteers who arrived with trepidation is functioning like a mini-law firm. We are running cases by each other, asking advice and making suggestions. (We meet by the proverbial ‘water cooler’ to swap stories and spew disdain, when appropriate, at the situation these women have been placed in.) The really messed up part of all of this? We find ourselves hoping for horrible stories in which there is obvious persecution due to a woman’s race, political affiliation or religion so she has a stronger case.
